There aren’t a lot of bands that feel inevitable to me. Deep Sea Diver is a sure thing and I’m routinely surprised that they aren’t buzzy-er than they are. Part of that is a rate-of-production problem, but mostly it just feels like a matter of time. “Secrets,” the title track off their new album, is a prime example of how they’ve just got it figured out. They don’t sound like a band following someone else’s leads, they don’t sound lost or predictable in the structure of their songs, and there are no wasted seconds.
Secrets is out now. Check it out on Bandcamp.
