If you haven’t heard of Poppy before, you’re in for a treat. I was first introduced to Poppy by her dreamy rendition of Mac Demarco’s “My Kind of Woman” and am excited to finally see her putting out some original music. After releasing “Everybody Wants To Be Poppy”, the enticingly catchy uptempo pop single last month, Poppy recently released the laid-back-reggae jam “Lowlife”. Taking after the artistically odd shenanigans seen in her YouTube videos, which I highly recommend for your viewing pleasure, this entertaining music video features knit rabbit shoes, a horny devil, and the act of pushing wheelchair-constrained music executives around. I’m going to avoid trying to describe all that is Poppy, as she is a delightful spectacle you have to see, and now hear, for yourself.
