After yet another lengthy hiatus, WTF Wednesdays returns. I’m back with only the weirdest most WTF inducing content. Praise Yeezus!
1. ARCA – THIEVERY
With production credits ranging from ‘Yeezus’ to Bjork’s latest offering ‘Vulnicura’, Arca has been hard at work crafting some of the most intricate, avant-garde soundscapes for pop stars to get weird on. His own album ‘Xen’ is more akin to a concept album than a mixtape, displaying his androgynous alter-ego, Xen, in audio form. He teamed up with his roommate, renowned visual artist Jesse Kanda, to create this immersive audio-visual experience for “Thievery”.
2. GIRAFFAGE – TELL ME
This video clearly has nothing to do with the song, but who doesn’t love dogs doing weird things and merging with people? If you don’t, please gtfo, this list isn’t for you…jk love you <3
3. CLARK – BEACON
Clark’s latest release on the legendary WARP Records was an experimental electronic masterpiece. Recently caught his performance at Low End Theory, and I have to say, I was seriously impressed.
His video for “Beacon” is like an animated, graphic-novelized version of planet earth or something of that ilk.
4. BLEEP BLOOP – FEEL THE COSMOS
Animals lip-syncing to music by one of my favorite psychedelic post-dubstep producers. Does it get better than this? I don’t think so. Well…this might be a little better, but just barely.
5. FLY YOUNG RED – THROW THAT BOY P*SSY
I can’t even watch this whole video. It makes my eyes burn. Hopefully someone out there enjoys this. If not you can just make other people cringe in horror when you show this to them.
