Terms that come to mind listening to Petite Meller: Cutesy, pop, sugar, twee, and easy listening jazz. Were it not for that last one this might not work that well, but it’s that x-factor that makes my ears perk up and wonder what I’m listening to. “Nouveau jazzy pop” is what everyone is deciding to call it, and the above song “Backpack” is their most accessible and easy to like.
