Taylor Barnes here with the second installment of WTF Wednesday. I have some great material for you this week, so without further ado, let’s get weird!
1. GLASS ANIMALS – GOOEY
I’m still not entirely sure WTF is going on in this video. My best guess is that it’s some kind of liquid LSD communion that all these people are partaking in. The video takes the viewer on a journey from synthesis, to dosing, to the long strange trip which ensues. Definitely NSFW.
2. ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER – BORING ANGEL
I’ve seen a bunch of these emoji music videos popping up. Most of the other videos like this use emojis that explicitly display the songs lyrics, however since this song has no lyrics it’s like the emojis are telling a story that the music is unable to. WTF is the plot of this story? It seems to be a bleak and dreary representation of a man’s life. NSFW for sure.
3. KAYTRANADA – AT ALL
Female bodybuilders and Kaytranada are a strange combination, but somehow the video’s content still manages to match the song. Although the video seems to fit the music, I’m not entirely sure WTF these muscular Amazon women have to do with Kaytranada.
4. SKRILLEX – RAGGA BOMB
As with all of these videos, I’m not entirely clear WTF is going on or even what country this video takes place in. However, I do know that skate-carting (?) rastafarians, dubstep, and lightsabers are all excellent qualities for a WTF video.
5. TITTS – WOEF
Lastly, but definitely not least, we have without a doubt the weirdest music video I have ever seen in my entire life. The video depicts a man who can’t seem to catch a break and a wolf who seems to hold the solution to all his problems. I’ll let this one speak for itself.
What happens when emo meets trap? The answer appears to be emo-trap (has it really come to this?) duo Fight Night. Two genres which seemingly have nothing to do with one another are fused together in this perplexing piece. Genre-bending mergers such as this one make me wonder what’s next. Digeridoos and dubstep? It probably already exists. Why? Because the internet.
